Mothers have said after a few months of pregnancy when the baby moves and kicks I feel life. Babies have survived outside the womb much earlier than the usual 9 months in a pregnancy. Those are babies that can survive outside the womb. Earlier babies cannot survive outside the womb. Either way, it is a baby. The time spent in the womb is part of the natural God-controlled pre-birth growth process of a baby. God created Adam from dust. He created Eve from a rib from Adam. He creates the rest of us through a father and a mother . . . a sperm and an egg. God is the Creator. God decides when to create a person. He decides which men and women will produce a person. He decides which men and women will not produce a person. Ruth 4:13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.1 Samuel 1:5 But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb. At the minimum abortion destroys the work of God. Whether or not you believe that thing that is destroyed in abortion is a baby you must know that it is a work of God. Destroying the work of God is sin. You must understand that abortion thwarts the will of God. I believe the Bible teaches that a fertilized egg called a fetus is a person . . . from the very moment of conception. Please read the following passages: Hannah, the mother of Samuel the prophet had been barren. Her prayer in I Samuel 1:11: And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. The answer to her prayer came in verse 20: Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord. |
