Born Of The Will Of God 1

Many believe in a Jesus who will not change their will and will permit them to go on living in their own will. They believe in a false Jesus. And many receive the true Jesus who in their flesh, try to live outside of His will and suffer more chastening than they need to.

Hebrews 12:6: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

James 1:18: Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

How can anyone believe that we are born of the will of God to go on living in our own will? God forbid! We are born of His will to live in His will.

John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother*s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

When we are born of the Spirit we are not to go on living in our flesh. We are to live in the Spirit. We are to become like our new spiritual parent just as we are like our physical ancestors. The Bible calls it godliness.

2 Peter 1:3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:8: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Many children bear very little resemblance to their physical ancestors at birth. As they grow they become more like one or more of their ancestors. It works in much the same way when we are born of the Spirit. As spiritual babes we don*t resemble our Heavenly Father very much at first but it should increase the longer we live on earth. It is called growth and maturity.
