Buy The Truth TODAY
Proverbs 23:23: Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
I don*t want to seem petty, but in order to demonstrate how difficult it is to get truth in our world today, I shall share with you more details (truth) than any normal person would want to know about my experience with a cell phone.
For several months I have been trying to learn the true cost of my phone service. I do not know if the sales and service people misled me or if the company wanted them to mislead me. The things they have told me are often only estimates of the truth. I was told that the service would cost X dollars per month for X number of minutes. I was told that if I pay the bill once a month any unused minutes would carry over. As best I can learn from experience, when I pay the bill every thirty days the minutes carry over. But thirty days is not always a month. When I paid the bill on the 25th day of one month I was told by a recorded message that the next month I would have to pay it on the 24th. If I pay the bill a few days early, as I like to do, such as on the 20th of a month, the recorded message would tell me that the next month I would have to pay it on the 19th. I discovered that when I paid the bill one day late the minutes still carried over. A service representative told me that they had a three-day grace period. Then I discovered that when I paid the bill two days late the minutes did not carry over. Then I was told that on my type of account there must be only a one-day grace period. If I pay the bill by mail I have no idea when it will get to them. If I pay the bill electronically, there is a minimum payment the company requires that is triple the cost of my monthly plan. It appears that I can buy the truth if I am willing to pay triple for it. If the day I want to pay electronically happens to fall on a Sunday it gets paid on Monday. If that Monday is a holiday, it gets paid on Tuesday.
Lies and liars saturate our world on every level. Some seem to believe that getting close to the truth is sufficient. Others seem to get as far from truth as they possibly can.
John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
We desperately need the truth in every area. Without the true diagnoses of any problem and the true solution to the problem, we can never solve anything. In the case of my cell phone, the only way I could learn the truth was by having the problems. I did not even tell the lies but just believing some of them and not having the truth cost me a few dollars and some time that I could afford to lose.
Unbelievers cannot afford to learn spiritual truth after they get to Hell. They need it NOW! Believers cannot afford to learn spiritual truth after they have wasted their lives. They need it NOW!
