These thoughts were sent to me by email by a Christian brother, James Kuykendall. I believe they originated with someone whose nickname is Miss Yum Bubble Gum. The letter had the title Keep The Bell Ringing and a subtitle I Know Who I Am. I thoroughly enjoyed the truths expressed and I am certain that you will also.
I am God*s child.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
I am Christ*s friend.
John 15:15: Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
I am united with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:17: But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
I am bought with a price.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God*s.
I am a saint (set apart for God).
Ephesians 1:1: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
I am a personal witness of Christ.
Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
I am the salt and light of the earth.
Matthew 5:13-14: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
I am a member of the body of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:27: Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
I am free forever from condemnation.
Romans 8: 1-2: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
I am a citizen of Heaven . . . I am significant.
Philippians 3:20: For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
I am free from any charge against me.
Romans 8:31-34: What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God*s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
I am a reconciled to God and I am a minister of reconciliation for God.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ*s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
I have access to God through the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:18: For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 2:6-7: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
I cannot be separated from the love of God.
Romans 8:35-39: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I am established, anointed and sealed by God.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22: Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
I am assured all things work together for good.
Romans 8: 28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit.
John 15:16: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
I may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Ephesians 3:12: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I am the branch of the true vine, a channel of His life.
John 15:1-5: I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
I am God*s temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
I am complete in Christ.
Colossians 2:10: And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
I am hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:3: For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
I have been justified and have peace with God.
Romans 5:1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
I am God*s co-worker.
1 Corinthians 3:9: For we are labourers together with God: ye are God*s husbandry, ye are God*s building.
2 Corinthians 6:1: We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
I am God*s workmanship.
Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
I am confident, that the good works God has begun in me will be perfected.
Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
I have been redeemed and forgiven.
Colossians 1:14: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
I have been adopted as God*s child and He was pleased to do that.
Ephesians 1:5: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
I belong to God! Do you know You belong to Him?
