Doing God*s Will Is Exciting

Doing God*s will is more exciting than anything we might do in our lives or with our lives. Doing God*s will does not come naturally for us. But with God*s help, it can be done. When we are doing His will we have all the power of the Creator of the universe behind us. We cannot fail. What could be more exciting than that?

He will sometimes permit us to go against His will. But when we disobey Him, we go against the most immense power that exists. Even though God has incredible power, He often restrains it. He might even restrain it through a man*s whole lifetime. But if we persist in our disobedience and our rebelliousness, at some point in time we are headed for a disastrous crash. Obeying Him is not just exciting, it is wise.

Matthew 28:18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Consider that phrase all power. There is no power that exists like His. The powers that we know about are all puny by comparison. We know about horsepower, electric power, diesel power, airplane power and Atomic bomb power. None of them can compare with His power. The more powerful the force is that we resist, the more difficult it will be for us and the more certain will be our defeat. Resisting the power of God is just plain foolish. He is Almighty!!

Revelation 1:8: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

God wants us to know as much as we can about His power and respect it. When we do understand it and respect it, it will cause us to trust Him and obey Him.

Ephesians 1:17-19: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.

I like that phrase the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe.

It means his incredible power can benefit us. Those who don*t believe will one day experience God*s power and they won*t enjoy it.

We have all seen the heavy equipment used to build highways. Those huge machines can move hills and fill in valleys. One of those machines can accomplish in an hour what 100 men could not do in a week with shovels and wheel-barrows. The machines are a whole lot more powerful than we are. God*s power makes the power of those machines seem like nothing. Some people are impressed when sports teams go undefeated for a few games. God has never ever been defeated.

We can see some results of His power in the world around us. God will strip away all excuses some day. He might ask -- why didn*t you believe me? Why didn*t you obey me? We would not be foolish enough to tackle a hungry lion or bear. But mankind has the incredibly foolish habit of rebelling against the all-powerful God who created the lion and the bear. Jesus did many miracles while he walked here on earth. The people who witnessed them were often amazed.

Luke 9:43a: And they were all amazed at the power of God.

Why are we not amazed at the power of God? How can we be foolish enough to resist that power? Why would we be foolish enough to get on the losing side? Sooner or later we will all acknowledge His power and glory. Some do it in their lifetime. Some don*t do it until it*s too late.

Philippians 2:9-10: Wherefore God hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth: And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
