Enter Into Joy
Matthew 25:21: His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Heretofore I have never thought of joy as something to enter into. It seems that the way to enter into the joy of thy Lord is to receive Him as THY Lord, becoming a servant of His, doing good things well for Him and by being faithful over a FEW things. When we compare what we can do after we are saved with all that He has done for us it will just be a few things we do for Him. The joy of thy Lord is better than the happiness of you. I have often heard the teaching that the words happy and happiness have to do with happenings, things that happen. But happiness is temporary and not nearly as deep, long-lasting and repeatable as the joy of the Lord. Often things happen that take away our happiness. We temporarily lose the joy when we do not serve Him and when we are not faithful to Him. When we lose the joy we also lose strength.
Nehemiah 8:10: Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, (capitals mine) peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
1 Timothy 6:17: Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
This not to say that there won*t be tribulation along the way.
Acts 14:22: Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
