Glory And Dominion Forever

1 Peter 5:10: But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 1:5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:10b: . . . Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

We have three enemies here on earth, the world, the flesh and the Devil. The Bible calls death an enemy too.

1 Corinthians 15:26: The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

In Heaven there will be no more battles with our flesh, the world or the Devil and there will be no more death.

Revelation 21:4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The troubling thing about life here on earth is the fact that we cannot see and enjoy the glory and dominion of God as clearly as we will in Heaven.

1 Corinthians 13:12: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1 John 3:2: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Romans 8:18: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

But wait a minute. We can perceive and enjoy His dominion here and now by simply keeping ourselves under it. And we can perceive and enjoy glimpses of the glory of God here and now, especially in believers and in Biblical churches.

Ephesians 3:21: Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

2 Thessalonians 1:4: So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

If there is not something about believers that draws you to them and something about Biblical churches that draws you out of the world and into them, you are to be pitied. You are not as blessed by the glory and dominion of God as you can be. If you do not enjoy glimpses and tastes of His glory and dominion here and now, you will tend to be miserable rather than joyful. I heard a phrase recently that describes some individuals. They practice the absence of God. Far better to practice the presence of God.

Psalms 46:1: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalms 95:2: Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Psalms 100:2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

There is no time or place on earth that a believer cannot come into the presence of God and His glory and dominion.
