God Is In The Details
We sometimes hear the expression The Devil is in the details. The fact is that it is God who is in the details. The Devil wants to be in the details, but he needs God*s permission to do anything.
Job 1:12: And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
Job 2:6: And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
1 John 4:4: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Ephesians 1:11: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
The way to have God in the details of your life is to surrender to Him and obey Him. When we are out of God*s will, He permits Satan to afflict us in order to get us into His will.
Psalm 119:71: It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
Psalm 119:67: Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
Hebrews 12:10-11: For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Whatever God permits in the lives of His children is ultimately for their good.
Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
There are some things that we don*t seem able to learn by watching the afflictions of others or by reading the Bible. We can only learn them through our own personal afflictions. We can sometimes avoid affliction by wisely obeying The Lord. He promises wisdom if we ask for it.
James 1:5: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
