The God Of Peace
Romans 15:33: Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Isaiah 9:6: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 48:22: There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
There will never be peace among nations or individuals until and unless God gives it. Men hopelessly and foolishly seek peace by trying to negotiate with governments and individuals who are controlled by Satan.
James 4:1: From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Psalms 46:9, 47:2: He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 47:2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
1 Corinthians 14:33a: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace,
It is foolish for a Christian nation or any nation to make treaties with non-Christian nations, especially if there is no way to verify the promises of the non-Christian nation. It is also foolish for a Christian to compromise with a non-Christian politician.
2 Corinthians 6:14: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Proverbs 18:5: It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.
For a nation to try to make peace between two non-Christian nations is also foolish. It is counter-productive to provide aid to both sides.
Proverbs 26:17: He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
America has been taking dogs by the ears for many years. It is also foolish to sacrifice lives and resources on behalf of unstable nations.
Proverbs 24:21: My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
America has violated so many Biblical principles in recent years that it is amazing she still exists. We desperately need to get back to God and His wisdom and peace. While God has not given us the exact same promises He gave His people Israel, we can learn something of His nature from His promises to Israel. He will not deal with His present day people less honorably than He did with those in the past.
Leviticus 26:3, 6a: If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; 6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid:
Romans 5:1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 4:7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
