God Owns You
Psalms 100:3: Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
John 1:11-12: He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
God created us and He owns us. Whether we have received Jesus or not He owns us. Whether we obey Him or not He owns us. Since He owns us it is right and proper for Him to do with us whatever He wants. He has the legal and moral right to our obedience. If individuals live as if they own themselves they are their own God. They then have a God who is virtually powerless. They could not and did not make themselves alive physically, much less spiritually. And they cannot keep themselves alive for one day, much less forever. They are unable to create a Heaven like God has and take themselves there.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God*s.
1 Corinthians 7:23: Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
Since He owns us, the only right thing we can do is what He wants. He wants us to become His special possessions, His children and His servants. He wants us to receive Jesus and love Him. He wants us to live our lives as if He owns us and not as if we own ourselves and not as if Satan owns us. Since He loves us, doing what He wants us to do will be best for us too.
