He Never Changes
They will never be God but one day believers will be like Jesus in many ways. We should strive to be as much like Him as we possibly can here and now.
Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Malachi 3:6: For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Revelation 4:8: And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
1 Peter 4:11: If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Jesus will never change. He will have dominion forever and He will be praised forever. The holy angels have always given Him dominion and praise. When believers reach Heaven they too will give Him praise and dominion forever. They too will be unchangeable. They could not give Him praise and dominion forever if they did not have unchanging eternal life. And they could not do that if Jesus Himself was not eternally unchangeable.
If we are to have unchanging eternal life and unchangeably give Him praise and dominion forever we must get eternal life from the One who has it and can give it, the Lord Jesus.
1 John 5:11: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
2 Corinthians 4:7: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
The flesh of believers, our earthen vessels, are inconsistent, pliable and changeable. But we can thank the Lord that when we reach Heaven we no longer be inconsistent. We will never again sin. We will have the treasure but not the earthen vessels. There will be some things about us that will never again change.
1 John 3:2: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
2 Corinthians 4:16: For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
When we reach Heaven, the outward man won*t be there. It will be dead and gone. The inward man will live forever in a new and unchangeable body.
1 Corinthians 15:41-44: There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1 Corinthians 15:49-54: And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
