The Highest Education 2

Becoming a Christian is an eye-opener. It is the beginning of the highest education. A child or an elderly person who receives Jesus enters God*s classroom and remains in it as long as he lives.

My IQ did not go up when I received Jesus. If anything it is in decline since I received Him when I was in my forties. But I know more things and more important things now than before. Have you ever wondered how you came to know more after you received Jesus than you did before? Or have you ever wondered why unbelievers can*t understand simple spiritual truth that is as plain to you as the nose on their face. When we become Christians God teaches us things that He doesn*t teach unbelievers. And we go on learning. It is His doing. Unbelievers aren*t enemies. God simply hasn*t saved them and begun teaching them yet. Unbelievers may have a lot of knowledge, but their knowledge is for them like a jig-saw puzzle that hasn*t been put together. This is not boasting about me or a put-down of others. I was like them for more than four decades. I did not know how ignorant, wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked I was before I received Jesus until after I received Him. I was like the people described in the next three verses. I thank God that he admitted me into His highest education.

2 Timothy 3:7: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Revelation 3:17: Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Acts 26:16-18: But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Psalms 111:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Psalms 25:14: The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Proverbs 3:32: For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

John 7:17: If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Luke 8:10: And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

If you haven*t received Jesus yet, receiving Him is the only way you will be able to acquire the knowledge and wisdom God wants to give you.

1 Corinthians 1:30: But of him (God) are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

1 Corinthians 2:16: For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Luke 2:52: And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

If even the Son of God increased in these things, we ought to cultivate what God has given us, grow in it and make the fullest use of it that we possibly can.

Our textbook is the Bible.

2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Our laboratory is a life of service.

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Our teacher is the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
