How Not To Know Gods Will
Knowing the will of God and doing it are the most wonderful and the most rewarding things anyone can know and do.
John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
If we have not received Jesus and become born again we are not able to perceive the will of God.
Psalms 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
If we are not studying the Bible we will not know the will of God.
Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
If we have not committed our works to the Lord we will not know His will.
Romans 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
If we have not presented our body and the transforming of our minds to Him we will not know His will. If we are conforming to the world we will not know His will.
Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
If we do not fear God we will not know His will. If we do not personally know the Holy One we will not know His will.
Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Denial of sin will keep us from knowing His will. Unconfessed and unforsaken sin will keep us from knowing His will. We do not deserve to know His will. It is only by His mercy that we can know it.
1 Corinthians 4:4a: For I know nothing by myself; . . .
John 14:26: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Without the Holy Spirit we will not know the will of God.
Matthew 6:10b: . . . Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
If we do not want His will above our own we will not know it.
