How To Get To Heaven
Since God is God, He gets to decide how people get to heaven. It is His way to heaven or we don*t make it.
John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4:12: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
1 John 5:11-12: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
We must receive Jesus. Receiving Him is receiving eternal life. Receiving Him is receiving The One who has power to make us children of God. When we receive Him, He exercises that power and makes us children of God who possess eternal life.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
We must receive Jesus into our hearts. In receiving Him into our hearts we are giving our hearts to Him and trusting Him to do His purifying work in them.
Ephesians 3:17a: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; . . .
Receiving Jesus into our hearts changes our destiny from Hell to Heaven.
Colossians 1:27: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Receiving Jesus into our hearts makes us different. Jesus in our hearts makes the changes that HE wants, not necessarily ones that we would choose. But after He makes them we will love them.
2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
We don*t fully understand what He wants us to be and we are unable to transform ourselves.
Jeremiah 13:23: Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Receiving Jesus first changes our hearts and then it changes what comes out of our hearts from evil to good. The changes will include our speech and our actions.
Luke 6:45: A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
That is a simple prayer in which you ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you. Why not do it now?
