The Bible describes becoming a child of God as becoming born again, born of the Spirit, born from above, saved, converted, etc. It means that God has changed your eternal destiny from the Lake of Fire to Heaven and you now have eternal life. 1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.Before you received Jesus the Bible called you some very negative things lost, the enemy of God, having the wrath of God abiding on you, alienated from God, in need of being reconciled to Him, an enemy of God etc. Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.Romans 8:7a Because the carnal mind is enmity against God . . . John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; God has given you peace with Him through the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
God has a plan for you and for your life. He planned the moment He would save you and He has a plan for the good works He will enable you to do between now and the day He takes you to Heaven.
