I Was Organically Sinful

I often thought I was a pretty nice fellow but before I received Jesus I was organically sinful . . . but please don*t look down your nose at me. Before we received Jesus we were all organically sinful.

Romans 3:10-18: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Colossians 3:5-6: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things* sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

The word mortify means to kill, to make it die, to put it to death. Dictionary definitions of the word members: individuals, individual things, or organizations belonging to a group or a constituent piece of a complex structure. Biblical definition of the word members: limbs or parts of the body. Our sins were as much a part of us as our arms and legs.

Matthew 5:29-30: And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Definitions of organically: in a natural way, by or with organs, relating to, derived from or characteristic of living plants or animals, constitutional in the structure of something, part of an organized whole, etc. Since our sins were as much a part of us as our arms and legs, it is no wonder God will fashion our vile bodies into glorious ones.

Philippians 3:21: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

This can only happen because Jesus took our sin upon Himself.

2 Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

If we are to get glorious bodies at His coming, we must have the glorious Savior dwelling in our hearts before we die.

Ephesians 3:17: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Dwell means to reside, to house permanently. I am so glad it means PERMANENTLY. Christ dwelling in our hearts will change our lives.

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Christ dwelling in our hearts will help us to reign in life.

Romans 5:17b: . . . they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Christ dwelling in our hearts will help us to keep our bodies under.

1 Corinthians 9:27: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Christ dwelling in our hearts will help transform us in spite of our sinful flesh.

2 Corinthians 4:7: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 7:21-25: I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

If we have received Jesus in to our hearts, our hearts are now organically righteous even though our flesh is still organically sinful.

Acts 15:7-9: And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
