Lies Are Partners With Other Sins
Liars hate the ones they lie to or about.
Proverbs 26:28: A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
They lie to themselves therefore they hate themselves.
James 1:22: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
They lie to God therefore they hate Him.
Acts 5:1-10: But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles* feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
They try to hide hatred with lies and they are fools.
Proverbs 10:18: He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
Lies pile up within haters.
Proverbs 26:24: He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
They lie about loving God.
1 John 4:20: If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
They seek death.
Proverbs 21:6: The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
They forget God.
Jeremiah 13:25: This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
They lie about walking with the Lord.
1 John 1:6: If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
Sin (including lies) hardens hearts and God hates the tongues of liars.
Hebrews 3:13: But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. God hates the tongues of liars.
Proverbs 6:16-19: These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Lies separate liars from God.
Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
They defile themselves.
Mark 7:21-23: For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
They disobey multiple commandments and have no truth in them.
1 John 2:4: He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
If they believe lies long enough, believing lies will become their judgment.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-12: For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Without forgiveness they will go to the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Liars can have mercy when they uncover, confess and forsake lying.
Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
They can be freed from all of the above.
John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Believers are to put away lying.
Ephesians 4:25: Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
