Lives Without Love
Living without the love of God flowing in and out of an individual is such a desperate condition that the Bible calls it death.
John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
1 John 3:14: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
As I am out in public I am saddened when I notice that most people are frowning. Many are complaining and bickering. They seem only concerned about themselves. Children are disobedient. Parents don*t seem to care. Drivers are inconsiderate. Often there are horns honking, engine noise and loud music emanating from their cars.
I believe I am observing lives without love. Sometimes I pray for those folks. Do you? God is big enough and powerful enough to answer a prayer that you pray for a total stranger. Praying for people is a wonderful way to love them, especially when there is no other way to do that. I often wonder what our world would be like if every Christian noticed the people who seem to be living without the love of God and prayed for them. My world gets better when I pray for them. Sometimes theirs does too.
