Make Not Provision

Romans 13:14: But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Ephesians 4:27: Neither give place to the devil.

James 4:7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

There are some sins that we commit because they have taken us by surprise. If we are honest, we will admit that there are some sins that we could avoid by the proper preparation and planning and there are some that we plan to commit ahead of time, sometimes over and over and over.

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The passage means we should seek first the kingdom of God right now, but it also means that we should seek it first five minutes from now and again five minutes after that. It means that we should first seek the kingdom of God continually.

If we neglect studying the Bible, we automatically manufacture for ourselves opportunities to sin and to get out of God*s will.

Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

If we do not regularly attend a Biblical church, we also manufacture for ourselves opportunities to sin and to get out of God*s will.

Ephesians 4:11: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

There are many advantages believers deprive themselves of by staying away from Biblical churches. They are not perfected, they are not fulfilling their ministry, they are not sufficiently edified, they are not in complete unity with God and other believers, they have an incomplete knowledge of the Son of God, they are not as mature as they should be, they are tossed to and fro, they fall into false doctrine, they are deceived by men, they are naïve about spiritual issues, they miss much important truth, they do not grow as they should, they do not have a right relationship with the head of the church, which is Jesus Christ, as believers they are misfits, they are not effective, they harm the church, they deprive themselves of love and they refuse to love other believers.

1 Peter 5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Ephesians 6:11: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
