My God And Your God
John 20:17: Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
My God and your God can be the same God. But it is vital that He become MY God for me and MY God for you. If He were just your God, He would be no help to me. If He were just My God He would be no help to you. Each of us needs Him personally.
John 20:28: And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
If He were not My Father personally, I could not truthfully and accurately call Him Our Father.
Matthew 6:9b: . . . Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
When He is My God for each of us, we become grateful to Him, grateful for other Christians and grateful for His provision of every need.
Romans 1:8: First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
1 Corinthians 1:4: I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
It thrills me that He is My Lord, My God and My Father.
