My Yoke Is Easy
Matthew 11:29-30: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Are you carrying a load that is too heavy? You must be carrying a load that Christ doesn*t want you to carry. Are you trying to carry yourself? Christ wants to carry you.
John 10:28: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Isaiah 40:11: He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Christ wants you to carry other people*s burdens while He is carrying you. So who will really be carrying the other people*s burdens?
Galatians 6:2: Bear ye one another*s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
The Lord commands us to be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.
2 Corinthians 6:14: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
The yoke that Christ asks us to take upon ourselves is very unequal. It seems to me that we don*t carry the yoke, the yoke carries us. The Lord gives us things to do that are impossible for us when we are walking in the flesh. Those same things are easy when we are walking in the Spirit. Becoming strong Christians works the same as it does for weight-lifters. Start with the light stuff and you*ll soon be able to lift the heavy stuff. Here is some light stuff:
Psalms 55:22: Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
1 Peter 5:7: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Psalms 37:24: Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
Psalms 46:10a: Be still, and know that I am God: . . .
Psalms 37:1: Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psalms 34:8: O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psalms 37:3: Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psalms 27:14a: Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Psalms 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Matthew 10:31: Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
1 Corinthians 16:13: Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
