On The Job Training
When Christians participate in the ministries of a Biblical local church with other believers, they get valuable on-the-job training. They learn how to serve the Lord from others. They have wonderful examples to follow. They get to see the results of serving the lord. They are taught the Bible. They learn how to study the Bible. They learn how to pray. They learn how to walk with the Lord. They learn how to be faithful. They are loved. They learn what love is. They meet individuals who are easy to love. They learn how to love others. They learn how to live by faith. The Bible, the teaching, the examples, the learning, the results and the service all fit together. The blessings of regular church attendance are more than we can put on paper. We can never get too much or too many of those blessings.
Proverbs 27:17: Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Ephesians 6:17: And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
When Christians attend a Biblical church regularly, they keep their swords sharp and learn how to use them. The swords of Christians who stay away from church become dull and rusty. The Lord teaches some of us one thing and others of us other things. Then He fits us together in churches. Churches are much more productive in serving the Lord than individuals.
1 Peter 2:5: Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:19-22: Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:14, 18, 27: For the body is not one member, but many. 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Ephesians 4:11-16: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
