1 Timothy 6:11-12: But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
A wise man:
Here is the secret of success in the Christian life . . . start where you are and move toward the light, no matter how faint the light may be. As we fulfill known duties, the light will become brighter. Standards that formerly seemed unreasonable and unattainable will make sense and come within reach. Virtues, such as faith, love, patience, and meekness, which at one time were strangers to us, will gradually become fixed in our character. *Follow after righteousness,* is Paul*s advice. Start, and keep going.
