A One Track Mind

If we all had a one track mind and if that one track was always on God we would be better off. Unbelievers are NEVER on track with God and Christians sometimes get derailed too. Getting back on track (forgiveness) is freely available to Christians. When Christians get to Heaven, they will all have one track minds and they will always be focused on the Lord.

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Mark 12:30: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Once we have received Jesus into them, He has won the battle for our hearts.

Ephesians 3:17a: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; . . .

Our hearts can never get off track, but our souls, minds and strength get derailed. The battle in those areas continues for the rest of our lives.

1 Chronicles 28:9: And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

In the passage hearts are called perfect and minds are only called willing. Paul beseeches us to turn our bodies which include our minds over to the Lord and to bring our thoughts into the captivity of Christ. Our minds are fleshly and rebellious and need to be captured and renewed.

Romans 12:-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 10:5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

It is difficult to define the differences between our hearts and minds and the things that they have in common. BOTH shall be kept through Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Christ can live in our hearts in ways that He cannot live in our minds. Since both our hearts and minds are kept through Christ Jesus our minds are also important.

Philemon 1:14: But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

When our minds are on track they can observe the changes that Jesus makes in our hearts. Our minds can be renewed and can help transform us. They can find the perfect will of God for our lives.

Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The more we study the Bible the more our minds will be on track.

2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

And the more committed we are to serving the Lord the more our minds will be on track.

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
