Planned in Heaven
Christians* existence on earth and their future in Heaven were planned in Heaven. We Christians are part of God*s eternal plan. Those truths should excite us and give us a great sense of security.
Ephesians 1:4: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
2 Timothy 1:9: Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Titus 1:2: In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Nothing should be more exciting to us than noticing the work in us and in our lives of our Creator and the Creator of the universe. Nothing else can compare with that.
Philippians 2:12-13: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
He had a purpose for creating us. He created us for His pleasure. If God were a sinful being such as we are, creating us for His pleasure might have been selfish. But because God is who He is, creating us for His pleasure was noble and right.
Revelation 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Isaiah 43:6-7: I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
Psalms 100:3: Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they marred God*s creation. Men no longer gave Him the pleasure He intended. Therefore He must recreate man if man is to give Him pleasure. That is what happens to us when we receive Jesus into our hearts as Saviour.
2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Jude 1:24-25: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
When we understand these truths it should give new meaning to this prayer: Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
