Plugged Into A Dynamo
We who are Christians are vitally and dynamically connected to something far superior to a dynamo. We are plugged into God Himself through the Lord Jesus. He is in us and we are in Him. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit. Indeed, the Holy Spirit is the Seal. No one will be able to break those connections.
Ephesians 3:17: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 1:22: Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Ephesians 1:13: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 4:30: And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
When He takes up residence within us His life is in us. When we are in Him we are in His life.
1 John 5:11-12: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
2 Peter 1:4: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We who are Christians are plugged into power, righteousness, love, good works, peace, unselfishness, grace, mercy, knowledge, wisdom, protection, guidance, forgiveness and many other things. Our flesh would prefer to short circuit all those things. It has the ability and power to do that. It should be a given that Christ in our hearts and lives will make a huge difference and that we should enjoy that difference.
Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Our heart pumps blood around our body. Christ pumps spiritual life into us. It is not just eternal life. The phrase eternal life merely speaks about the quantity of it. It also has a greater quality to it. It is a different kind of life. It is a better life. It is a higher quality life. It is a cleaner life. It is a more powerful life. It is a more dynamic life. It is a life more under control. It is life on a higher plane. It is a life with an eternal purpose.
Romans 5:17: For if by one man*s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
There is spiritual energy that flows into a believer and through him that comes from God. Living things have energy. Dead things do not. People who are spiritually alive have spiritual energy. People who are spiritually dead have no spiritual energy.
Ephesians 2:4-5: But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
Quickened means made alive.
John 7:38: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
The Christian life ought to be more influential, more joyful, more efficient, more peaceful, more useful, more practical and more in every essential way than the life of a lost person.
John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
God has made changes in me and in my life that I have not, could not and would not have made. I cannot fully explain them. I trust that He has made changes in you and in your life that you cannot explain.
Some people think it is a demotion to become a Christian. It is an indescribable promotion. Becoming a Christian is like putting a turbocharger in a powerless motor. A turbocharger pushes more fuel and more air into an engine and makes it more powerful.
Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
There are many Christians out on the fringe of Christianity. The life of Christ flows into them and out of them but very weakly. I often wonder why the Holy Spirit was like a raging forest fire in men like D.L. Moody and Billy Graham but only a flickering candle in me. I believe the fault is mine. I have the same Holy Spirit with all the same powers. Praise God there are times when I see His power at work in and through me.
A vision of God always transforms human life.
Jacob saw God and was changed from a deceiver to a prince with God. Gideon was changed from a coward to a valiant soldier. Thomas was changed from a doubter to a believer. William Carey was changed from a shoemaker to a missionary to China. David Livingstone left all and followed God to the dark jungles of Africa. I have been changed from a lost wanderer to a follower of Christ. I had no interest in the Bible. Now I thrive on it. I was going my own way. Now with God*s help I want to go His way. I was miserable in prosperity. Now I am joyful in all circumstances.
Our connection with the Living God is much greater than we realize. It is the source of all things to us. We can facilitate an increase in the flow of all things from God to us by our obedience. We can permit a trickle to become a torrent. By our disobedience we can cause the torrent to become a trickle.
Transformers reduce the flow of thousands of volts of electric power in power lines to 110 or 220 volts that flows into our homes. We need to get rid of the transformers (sin) that reduce the flow of God*s power into our lives.
Ask the Lord to cause the life of Christ to flow into you and out of you more powerfully. It starts in small ways and then multiplies. Let us maximize the life of God within us by maximizing our submission to Him.
Luke 19:17: And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
We cannot have too much of God. We should always desire more. One day that desire shall be fully satisfied. Oh, how wonderful!
Heavenly Father please give us a ravenous hunger for You now and always.
