Salvation Is Of The Lord
Jonah 2:9: But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
The cause of every element of salvation is God and God alone. Believing that men could cause even one element of salvation is the height of condemning arrogance.
Salvation is the gift of God and God alone. Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Salvation was originated by God and God alone. Ephesians 1:4: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Salvation is prepared by God and God alone. Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Salvation is the will of God and God alone. 2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
John 1:13: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Salvation requires God*s power and God*s alone. John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
The day of salvation is chosen by God and God alone. Hebrews 4:7: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Jesus personally abides within those He saves. Colossians 1:27: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
God personally makes the saved acceptable to Himself. Ephesians 1:6: To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
God personally chose those who would be saved, called them to salvation, justified them and glorified them. Romans 8:30: Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
The Holy Spirit personally seals the saved. Ephesians 4:30: And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
The Holy Spirit personally baptizes believers into the Body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:13: For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Jesus personally baptizes believers with the Holy Ghost and fire. Luke 3:16: John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Only God Himself was able to create us and only He is able to recreate us. 2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Forgiveness that saves is the action of God and God alone. Mark 2:7: Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
Psalms 103:12: As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
We are connected to the Father directly through Jesus and the Father gives us salvation directly through Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5: For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Salvation is the accomplishment of God and God alone. James 1:18: Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
The Holy Spirit personally informs those who have salvation. Romans 8:16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Personally receiving Jesus is the only way for an individual to receive the personal work of the Father. John 14:6 : Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4:10-12: Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Personally receiving and possessing Jesus also receives and possesses the Father and the Holy Spirit. While the Holy Spirit calls us to salvation, seals us and indwells us forever after at the request of God the Father and God the Son, He is usually not named in the process. 2 John 1:9: Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
Romans 8:9: But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Salvation is not a do-it-yourself project. Jeremiah 13:23: Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Job 14:4: Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
The Bible is not a do-it-yourself instruction book. John 5:39-40: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Matthew 22:29: Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Salvation is not through any mortal man or any group of mortal men. Jeremiah 9:4: Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
Micah 7:5: Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
Jeremiah 17:5: Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Isaiah 30:1: Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Psalms 146:3: Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
Colossians 2:8: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Jeremiah 6:13: For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
John 1:12-13: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The only men you can trust are the men who tell you to trust in God through Christ. And the only thing you can trust about those men is their message. There must be zero trust in men who don*t bring that message. 2 Corinthians 5:20: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ*s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
