Serving God Is A Mark Of Believers
Romans 6:16, 18, 22: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 18, But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, 22 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Serving God and others is a mark of believers while serving self and sin is a mark of unbelievers. The word minister means a servant. Serving God is commanded multitudes of times in the Bible. Serving Him and others is God*s plan for every believer. Serving Him is beneficial to them. Those who serve Him are glad to do it and glory about it and plan to do it. God*s Holy angels serve Him while Satan and His demons do not. When we serve God and need their help, the Holy angels help us. We can never serve Him too much and He is ALWAYS pleased when we do. We will be serving Him in Heaven and there will be no curse there. Every service of God by believers will be rewarded. Sadly, I have known many believers who do not serve God and they are miserable. So who and what do you serve? Try serving God and you will NEVER regret it. The sooner and oftener the better. And, of course, you will eventually regret all serving of self and sin.
Exodus 3:12b: . . . ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
Exodus 7:16: And thou shalt say unto him, (Pharaoh) The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
Exodus 10:26: Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
Exodus 23:25: And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Matthew 4:10: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Acts 27:23: For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
1 Thessalonians 1:9: For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
Hebrews 9:14: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 12:28: Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
Revelation 22:3: And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Psalms 100:2a: Serve the LORD with gladness: . . .
It is interesting that joy is the fruit of the Spirit but gladness is the fruit of service. The Holy Spirit gives us joy but we have a hand in making ourselves glad.
Matthew 10:42: And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Ecclesiastes 12:13: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Not serving God requires a unique form of ignorance of Him and the Bible, don*t you think?
