Sharing Each New Day With Him
Sharing each new day with Him is a cup of fresh life.
Gary Paxton, the author of the Hymn: He Was There All The Time had obviously lived a life that he had not shared with the Lord. His words: I went searching for peace in some void. I tried to blame all my ills on this world I was in. Surface relationships used me *til I was done in. Then he discovered that someone was begging to free him from sin. That someone was Jesus. What a change Jesus made in Mr. Paxton*s life. Read the words he wrote after receiving Jesus: He was there all the time, waiting patiently in line. Never again will I look for a fake rainbow*s end. Sharing each new day with Him is a cup of fresh life. Now that I have the answer, my life is just starting to rhyme. Oh, what I missed! He*s been waiting right there all the time. I wonder if Mr. Paxton*s words describe your experience of the Lord? They vividly describe mine.
2 Peter 1:2: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Have grace and peace been multiplied to you? Have you begun to know God personally instead of just knowing about Him?
Psalms 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Have you begun to find delight in the Lord?
Psalms 16:11: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Has God been showing you the path of life? Are you living in His presence? Are you experiencing fullness of joy?
Does your flesh tell you that life with God is a bad thing? Mine tells me that. We need to keep our flesh in subjection and mortify its deeds.
1 Corinthians 9:27: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Colossians 3:5: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
With God*s help, keeping their flesh in subjection and mortifying their sins were what the Apostle Paul and Mr. Paxton did.
