Jesus wants to live in our hearts AND in our lives.
Ephesians 3:17a: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; . . .
Galatians 2:20b: . . . the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Men are glad that Christ died for them and they are often willing to have Him living in their hearts. But they don*t want Him meddling in their life. Even Christians often want Him in their heart but not in their life. That is rather like trying to walk on one leg while dragging the other. You don*t get very far, you don*t go very fast and you can*t help anyone else on the journey. If you try to keep Him in your heart but out of sight in your life, your walk with Him will be deformed. You will be a spiritual cripple.
Matthew 5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Matthew 5:14: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mark 4:21: And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
