The Inspiration Of God

2 Timothy 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Before I was saved I was not inspired by God and did not want to be. His Word did not inspire me either and I did not want it to. Since I have been saved I long for His inspiration and need it desperately. Does He inspire you and do you want Him to? Does His Word, the Bible inspire you? Does it profit you? Does it correct you and instruct you? Is it causing you to grow in the knowledge of God? Have you personally tasted that the Lord is gracious?

1 Peter 2:2: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Romans 11:33: O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Does it help you to do what is right instead of sinning?

Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Has it given you wisdom that old men and great men do not have, more wisdom than you had before and more wisdom than you got anywhere else?

Job 32:7: I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom. 8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. 9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

Is it in your heart and does it keep your steps from sliding?

Psalms 37:30: The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. 31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. 32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. 33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

Is the Bible accomplishing God*s will in your life?

Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Do you esteem the Bible more than your necessary food?

Job 23:12: Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Do you study it and are you rightly dividing it or are you ashamed?

2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Are you living by it and because of it?

Matthew 4:4: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
