Treasures And Riches
Isaiah 45:3: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
He cannot see speaks of blindness. It is a particular type of blindness. It is blindness to the kingdom of God. It is blindness to the King. It is blindness to true and eternal treasures and true and eternal riches. It is blindness to the things of the Spirit of God. It is a total lack of spiritual discernment.
1 Corinthians 2:14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
John 3:19: And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Men become born again when they receive Jesus into their hearts and lives. Receiving Him is a surrender to Him and a surrender to a different sort of life.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Becoming a child of God is another way to describe what it is to become born again. A physically blind person walks around bumping into things. A physically sighted man walks around freely without bumping into things. A physically sighted man can live a life that is better than the life of a physically blind man. The life of one who has truly become a child of God should be different than it was before. He can avoid bumping into sin and being harmed by it.
1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Children of God don*t always walk in the light. They close their eyes and become carnal. They can bump into just about as much sin as an individual that is spiritually blind. They close their eyes to treasures and riches. They are spiritually impoverished. They allow Satan to steal their treasures and riches.
John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
When I received Jesus I began calling the Bible and Bible truth my treasure. But the life He has given me is also a treasure.
