Two Kinds Of PeopleThe world separates people and categorizes people in a lot of ways.
Tall -- Short
The world also separates people by nationality and geographic location. The Lord separates all people into two groups. In His eyes there are two kinds of people, believers and unbelievers.
Matthew 25:31-34: When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
The sheep are types of believers. The goats are the types of unbelievers. Those on His right hand are the believers. Those on His left hand are unbelievers.
Thank God He changes spiritual goats into spiritual sheep. He changes unbelievers into believers!! The two kinds of people on earth are at opposite poles in many areas. Sometimes it is obvious that they are actually enemies.Matthew 10:34-35: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
There are some absolute differences between believers and unbelievers. Unbelievers are spiritually dead. Believers are spiritually alive.John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Believers are new creations. Unbelievers are unchanged.
2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
There is a remarkable contrast between the two kinds of people in Ephesians 2:1-5: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in time past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
One who has been an unbeliever and is now a believer will have some understanding of both sides of the fence. One who has been only an unbeliever will not fully understand what it is to be a believer. He has never experienced it.
Romans 8:16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
A Believer will have been told by the Holy Spirit that he is a child of God. An unbeliever will never have heard from the Holy Spirit.
Exodus 11:7b: . . . that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
The Jewish people are God*s chosen people. God set them apart in many ways from others in the Old Testament. His setting them apart and making them different is a good picture of what He does to and for those who come to faith in Him. The Jews were to behave differently, eat differently, dress differently, follow different rules, and stay separate geographically.
We find two kinds of people again in John 1:11-12: He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Which group are you in?
