Two Kinds Of Pleasures
Hebrews 11:25: Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Psalms 16:11: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
One kind of pleasures are temporary and the other kind are eternal. We must choose. In fact we must choose many times each day. If we are honest and wise we will notice that the pleasures we get from sins don*t last. Sometimes they don*t last more than a few minutes or a few seconds. Sometimes they go away instantly. I have noticed again and again that the pleasures of disobeying God go away quickly. I have also noticed that the pleasures and satisfactions that come when I obey God in even one little thing stay with me for hours, days or weeks. Sometimes those pleasures are repeated years later. Things I did for the Lord decades ago accumulate and still give me pleasure today.
I suggest that you pay some attention and notice the different results when you do what is wrong and when you do what is right. In particular, notice how long the results last.
