The Way Of Transgressors
Isaiah 48:22: There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
Proverbs 13:15: Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
There is the implication in the passage that those who are not transgressors have understanding that gives favor and that transgressors do not have. The way of transgressors is also a way of spiritual ignorance and blindness. That truth is repeated often in the Bible.
Proverbs 28:5: Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
Psalms 92:6: A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
Jeremiah 10:23: O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Matthew 13:15: For this people*s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
John 1:10: He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
John 5:39: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
1 John 2:19: They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
We haven*t even mentioned the eternity of Heaven and the Lake of Fire but contrast the way of transgressors with the way of the forgiven here and now.
John 7:17: If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
1 Corinthians 2:3: And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man*s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man*s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
