We Are Always Able

It is natural for us to believe that we cannot do what the Lord wants us to do. That is a lie from the pit of Hell. Satan tries to make the things appear to be too difficult that the Lord wants us to do. There are many things that we want to do that we cannot do. We cannot do them for various reasons: We don*t know how, we don*t have the strength, we don*t have the time, we don*t have enough money, we don*t have enough help, etc. There is nothing that the Lord wants us to do that we cannot do.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

When I was growing up my parents often sent me to a grocery store or some other store to buy something. They knew that I would be able to carry the item home. They knew how much the item would cost and gave me more than enough money to buy it. My parents were wise about those things and Lord is wiser than they were. He knows all of our limitations. He knows exactly what we can do and exactly what we should do.

Psalm 103:14: For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

My parents started by giving me small and easy responsibilities. As I grew, they trusted me with greater responsibilities. It works the same way with the Lord.

Luke 19:17: And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

I am glad the passage doesn*t just say little. It says we start being faithful in a VERY little.

There are never any valid excuses for disobeying Him.

Proverbs 21:30: There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

I don*t mean that the Christian life is always easy. Sometimes it is hard. But it is easier than the alternative.

Proverbs 13:15: Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Matthew 11:28-30: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
