We Need Gods Mercies Every Day

Lamentations 3:22: It is of the LORD*S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Malachi 3:6: For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

The Lamentations passage was written by Jeremiah, a prophet and a believer about himself and God*s chosen people. The Malachi passage was written by a profit and to God*s chosen people. Being Christians does not exempt us from this truth: It is of the mercies that we are not consumed. It is of His mercies that we are not consumed THIS DAY and EVERY DAY.

Genesis 32:10: I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.

Jacob was not worthy of the mercies of God nor of all the truth. Neither are we.

2 Samuel 24:14: And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

1 Chronicles 21:13: And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.

About two years after he was anointed by Samuel, (1 Samuel 24) David knew that he STILL NEEDED God*s mercies and about 26 years after Samuel anointed him (1 Chronicles 21) he still knew that God*s mercies were great and that he still needed them. As long as we believers live on this earth we will always and constantly need God*s mercies.

Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

It is by the mercies of God that we can present ourselves and our bodies unto Him and serve Him.

Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

We only find God*s mercy by confessing and forsaking our sin.

Psalms 103:10: He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

Hebrews 4:16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Unbelievers do not understand or believe that they need and have some of God*s mercies. But believers of all ages and dispensations SHOULD know that they always desperately need God*s mercies. Believers are the only ones who CAN know that they need and have the mercies of God. Gratitude for God*s mercy should be the mark of every believer. Do you know that you need them? Do you take them for granted?
