What Heaven Will Be Like 6
There will be no darkness. Jesus will be the light of it.
Revelation 21:23: And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
We will wear white robes that will never wear out or get dirty.
Revelation 7:9: After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
There will never be any sin that will come between us and the Lord.
Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
The thing that we have craved all of our lives is love. The thing we have needed most is love. We have sought it from our loved ones and friends. But it has never completely satisfied us. We shall have the love of God without interruption. And we will be satisfied. At long last, we will be satisfied.
Romans 8:38-39: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Since Jesus ascended into Heaven He has been seated at the right hand of God. The Martyr Stephen saw the heavens opened and Jesus standing. I believe that Jesus stands to welcome each of us.
Acts 7:55-56: But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
We will have perfect fellowship with Him. We will be able to walk and talk with Him.
1 John 1:3: That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
We will have more knowledge than we ever had on earth and we will retain it.
1 Corinthians 13:12: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
We shall enjoy God forever.
Westminster Shorter Catechism: What is the chief end of man? A. Man*s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
