Where To Start In The Bible 2

John 10:28: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father*s hand.

Romans 16:25: Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

1 Peter 1:5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

It is important to know early on how secure we are in God*s powerful hands and that His over-arching power is at work on our behalf.

John 14:16: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

It is also important to make a habit of depending upon the Holy Spirit early in our relationship with Christ. The Apostle John knew that Jesus was 100 percent God and 100 percent man. He was blessed by the Diety of Christ (His Godhood) and the Manhood of Jesus and expressed those truths very well.

John 13:23: Now there was leaning on Jesus* bosom one of his disciples, (John himself) whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. 25 He then lying on Jesus* breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

John 19:26: When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

When you have absorbed as much as you can from the Gospel of John I suggest you next read and study the first, second and third Epistles of John near the back of the Bible. You will find much blessed and important truth in them too.

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 3:1: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 John 5:12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
