Work Before Pleasure

That is pretty much the way my siblings and I were raised. For most of my Christian life it has been the other way around. I have the pleasure of spending time with the Lord first and then doing something for him. I have strongly advocated that my readers should have their time with the Lord before attempting to do anything for Him each day. There is another phenomenon that sometimes happens. When I am asleep the Lord deals with me and when I awake there are things in my mind that I must write down before I forget them. There have been some things that I did not write down first thing in the morning that I could never recall, no matter how hard I tried to. All I knew about them was that they came from the Lord and they were special. Sometimes I have a definite sense that the Lord would have me do the work of writing things down before I have the pleasure of seeking Him in my early morning prayer and Bible study. I have had the pleasure of being a child of God for almost thirty years now. He sometimes permits me to feed off that rather than having a few more minutes of feeding time on a morning. He sometimes permits me to do something for Him before I have my structured moments of pleasure with Him. Sometimes what we do for the Lord is rest before work. This morning was one of those times.

I belong to Him when I am awake and when I am asleep. His work on His children goes on twenty-four hours a day. What a Wonderful God!!!

Philippians 2:12-13: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Psalms 121:3: He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Psalms 63:3-6: Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalms 17:15: As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
