Wrong Leaders To Follow

Psalm 1:1: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Proverbs 17:4: A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

Usually the ungodly, the sinners, the scorners and the liars are the same people. We are blessed or cursed depending upon who we believe and follow. We are responsible for our own blessing or cursing.

The wrong places to go are where the ungodly would lead you, the wrong places to stand are where sinners want you to stand, the wrong places to sit are where the scornful sit and the wrong people to believe are the liars.

My first thought about where to find wrong leaders is TV, the other secular media and the unbelievers all around us. Those influences try to lead us into temptation and sin and cursedness. If we follow the wrong leaders we are stuck to them and become one of them and become like them. We accomplish what they accomplish. They are the engine and we are the caboose of the same train.

1 John 4:1: Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

If we study the Bible it is not difficult to try the spirits of those who seek to influence us. If we are familiar with the Bible we will be able to discern who is following it and who is not. The more we know the Bible the more we can know where ungodly influences are coming from, (Satan) where they are (away from God) and where they are going (the Lake of Fire). If we are immersed in the Bible we will learn where and how to find the blessing of God and we will be able to recognize it and enjoy it.
