YOU Can Please The Lord
And when you please Him it will greatly benefit you. Pleasing Him is what He created you for.
Revelation 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Many individuals believe that God did not create them therefore they are not obligated to please Him. Many of them believe that men cannot please God and therefore they do not try to please Him. Those excuses won*t hold water. The truth is that they want to please themselves rather than God. We cannot make ourselves as happy as God can.
So how can we please God?
Luke 12:32: Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father*s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Since it pleases God to give us the kingdom, it pleases Him when we receive it.
Psalms 149:4: For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Since He takes pleasure in His people, we please Him when we receive Jesus and become His people. Becoming His people does not just give Him pleasure, it makes us happy.
Psalms 144:15b: . . . happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
That is not to say that His people will not have problems. They will suffer persecution and chastisement. And they will have trials to strengthen them. But they will be happy in spite of those things, and indeed, because of them.
Matthew 5:11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Hebrews 12:11: Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
1 Peter 4:12-13: Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ*s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
God is pleased when His people are spiritually prosperous.
Psalms 35:27: Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
People who are not God*s go through their problems without Him and without the happiness He gives. His people can please Him by what they do. They can please Him by keeping His commandments. When they pray what He wants them to pray that also pleases Him and He answers those prayers.
1 John 3:22: And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1 John 5:14: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
His people can please Him by what they speak and even by what they think about.
Psalms 19:14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
