You Are God*s Treasure If You Are His

That truth must be tempered with the knowledge that we do not deserve to be treasured by Him. What we deserve is eternal condemnation in the lake of fire. We ought to be awestruck by the idea that we are His treasures. The proper attitude is reflected in these passages:

Psalms 8:4: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Job 7:17: What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him? And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?

Psalms 144:3-4: LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him! Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

We treasure most those who treasure us. We enjoy those that enjoy us. We love those that love us. We can tolerate all kinds of faults among our friends and family if they will simply treasure us. If we can just realize how God treasures us it should cause us to also treasure Him.

1 John 4:19: We love him, because he first loved us.

Lloyd John Ogilvie:

We must know what we mean to God before we can discover what He wants us to mean to the world. When we realize we are the treasure for whom Christ died, we will treasure doing His will at all costs!

Is there anything that can match the value of being God*s cherished person?

Matthew 6:21: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

If we treasure God our hearts will be with Him.

2 Corinthians 4:7: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

The treasure in our hearts is Jesus.

Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Would you die for someone you did not treasure? I think not.

Exodus 19:5: Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Zechariah 2:8: For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
