Your Biggest Problem Is You
When unbelievers sin against you or me, they do themselves more damage than they do to us. They keep themselves under the wrath of God. No one can keep them under the wrath of God but them.
Psalms 7:11b: . . . God is angry with the wicked every day.
John 3:36b: . . . he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
When unbelievers harm us we should pity them more than we are angry with them. Look at the damage they do to themselves that they cannot do to us.
Psalms 37:15: Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
Psalms 37:1ff: Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 9a For evildoers shall be cut off: . . . 10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. 13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: . . . 36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. 38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
When we believers sin against others we do ourselves more damage than we do to the others. We put a barrier between us and God.
Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
When believers sin against me they too do more damage to themselves than they do to me. I should pity them more than I am angry with them. No one can put that barrier between God and them but them. No one can put that barrier between God and me but me. My biggest and only problem is me. No one can but that barrier between God and you but you. Your biggest and only problem is you.
