Your Relationship With Church

Satan would like to render the body of Christ powerless. He has no power against the head of the church but he continually attacks the churches members. One of his main methods is to keep Christians out of church. That way both the churches and the Christians are weaker. You must have heard of the old tactic divide and conquer.

Ephesians 5:23b: . . . Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Ephesians 1:22-23: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Christ is the Head of the church. Your relationship with the church is a reflection of your relationship with Christ. If you love the Head, you will love His body. If you avoid church, you are avoiding the Head of the church.

Matthew 18:20: For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

If you are part of a Biblical church but you are not active in it, you are very likely not active for God. If you are not committed to a church, you are very likely not committed to the Head of the Church. If you are not attending church regularly, you are very likely not walking with God regularly. If you don*t have time for church, you very likely don*t have time for the Head of the church. If you are not giving to a Biblical local church, you are very likely not giving to God. If you are not willing to be accountable to a local church, you are very likely not willing to be accountable to God.

If you are bored with church, you are most likely bored with God. If you are luke-warm toward the church, you are very likely luke-warm to the Head of the church. If you are not submissive to the church leadership, you are very likely not submissive to God. If you are rebellious against a Biblical church, you are very likely rebellious against God. If the church is not a big part of your life God is probably not a big part of your life. If the church has little or no impact on your life, the Head of the church very likely has little or no impact on your life. If you are suspicious of the church, you are very likely suspicious of the Head of the church.

If you find joy in a Biblical church, you will find joy in God Himself. If you have an exciting relationship with a Biblical church, you will very likely also have an exciting relationship with God. If you are eager to go to church, you are very likely eager to be with God.

If you are saved, you are part of the universal church, the body of Christ. Local churches are parts of the universal church. Christians should find the most Biblical one they can, join it, attend it regularly, support it financially, correct its faults, pray for it and participate in its ministries. If Christians do not attend local churches, those local churches cannot be what God wants them to be. If Christians do not attend local churches, they are failing the church and they are failing the Head of the church.
